Writing Academic Papers and Citing Sources in APA, MLA or Turabian Format
If Word is your preferred writing tool on a Mac, you can use Dr Paper Software to easily format your class papers and write your references.

1. Use Dr Paper to Create a new Document for Your Paper
To create a new document for your paper just go to your Word Template menu and double click on the template you need.

(You will have the option of choosing to format your paper for APA, MLA, or Turabian style. You can also choose the template for a screenplay.)

You just have to click on the prompts to enter the title, author, etc., -- and start writing!

2. Enter Your References in a Datafile.

Dr Paper includes a smart CiteWrite app for handling your references.

Just choose Applications > Citation, and create a new datafile.


For each work you need to cite in the paper, you'll just add a Citation notecard, with information on the author, year of publication, title, and so forth.

In text citations are formatted in the Preview box. You can use Citation's Preview box to format APA or MLA in-text citations, as well as Turabian footnotes, just by changing the Style.

To place the in-text cite (or footnote) into your paper, just click the "Insert Citation in Document" tab, and then paste the citation into your document. Simple!

3. Write the Reference List.

To write the Reference List, just click Format, Write Bibliography.
You can format your references in APA, MLA, Turabian, Vancouver (Medical Journal), or Anthropological style.

Use the menu on the Bibliography Dialog to change the style.
