PARTS OF AN APA STYLE MANUSCRIPT
APA Style requires that manuscripts include the following sections, in the following order:
  • A cover or title page
  • An abstract page
  • Body of the paper
  • Optional portions (appendixes, author note, figures; see below)
  • Reference List
Optional portions of the paper, to be inserted following the body of the paper and before the Reference List, may include:
  • Appendixes
  • Author note
  • Footnotes, listed on a separate page
  • Tables
  • Figure captions
  • Figures (graphs, photographs, or other illustrations)
