Enabling the Word Macros
Dr Paper creates APA, MLA, and Turabian documents by using the Visual Basic commands
used by Word Macros. The default setting in Word is to check macros from third parties before running them.
In most cases, you will get the standard Security warning dialog indicating that your are about
to run a macro published by The Write Direction Inc. Check "Always trust macros from this publisher",
and then click Enable Macros to use the Dr Paper Templates:
If you see this message:
Click
Enable Macros to format your paper.
If you see this message:
your installation of Word has the security settings set to HIGH.
You will need to change the security settings in Word to run the Dr. Paper
template. To change the settings:
- Close the message box by clicking OK.
- On Word 2000, click Tools, Macros, Security.
- On Word 2002 or 2003: click Tools, Options, to display the Options dialog.
- On the Options dialog, click on the Security tab, and then click the button
for Advanced settings.
- Change the setting from "High" to "Medium."
- Click OK on the Security dialog, and OK on the Options dialog
to save the changes.
- EXIT Word.
- Click Start, Programs, Dr Paper, Create APA Document.
and then
click Enable Macros. The Dr Paper dialog (see the instructions above)
will display.
- When you've complete the dialog, click OK, and start typing your paper!
